Best Litterbox Liners

Best Litterbox Liners

The best litterbox liners are the ones sized for the box you already own, and a bag that fits an automatic drawer will often not fit a manual pan. This guide compares six liner listings from the first results for litterbox liners, read on Amazon.com on 22 October 2026. Three listings give a thickness in mil, two describe the bags as extra thick without a number, and one gives neither. Three listings name automatic models, and they disagree about the LR series. One gives a rule for the pan rather than the bag.

Quick answer

  • Check the box before the thickness. ANWA’s rule is that the length plus width of the pan must be under 25 inches, and Elzrghs’s table marks its 36 by 16 inch liner as not compatible with self-cleaning boxes.
  • For a stated thickness, FortiCrest lists 2.8 mil, Frnoip lists 3 MIL total, and Jonny Cat lists 2 mil. Frnoip’s figure is 1.5 times Jonny Cat’s.
  • For an automatic drawer, KropBom says its bags do not fit LR 3, 4 or 5, while ANWA names LR 3, 4, 5, 5 Pro and EVO as compatible.
  • Count the bags in each pack and the changes you plan to make. Pack counts run from 15 to 150 in this group, and the arithmetic below shows how far a pack lasts.

How we chose

We searched Amazon.com for “litterbox liners” and read the first six results on 22 October 2026. The six were KropBom, Frnoip, ANWA, FortiCrest, Elzrghs and Jonny Cat. Lower on the same page were an Amazon Basics pee pad, which is a pad rather than a liner, and several waste-bag listings for automatic boxes. We did not open those, and we did not count them as liners for this roundup. We kept all six first results because each is a bag or liner sold for a cat litter box and each gives a size. We opened all six product pages and used only what each page showed on 22 October 2026. We did not use prices or buyer feedback, and the listings were not ranked by either.

The six listings side by side

The table uses only figures each listing states. “Not stated” marks a cell where the listing text we read is silent.

Listing Bag size (stated) Count in the pack we read Thickness (stated) Automatic-box note
KropBom 150 count 26 in x 11.8 in 150 Not stated (10 to 12 gallon capacity) Designed for self-cleaning boxes; listing says not LR 3, 4 or 5
Frnoip 60 pack 37 in x 18 in 60 (6 rolls) 3 MIL total (1.5 MIL per side) Lists Litter Robot 3 among boxes it fits
ANWA 40 count 25.2 in x 15.4 in 40 (two rolls of 20) “Extra thick”, no figure LR 3, 4, 5, 5 Pro and EVO; pan rule given
FortiCrest 30 count 37 in x 18 in 30 About 2.8 mil Not stated
Elzrghs 30 pack 36 in x 16 in 30 “Extra thick”, no figure Table marks this size not compatible with self-cleaning boxes
Jonny Cat 15 count 3 ft x 18 in x 2 mil (jumbo) 15 2 mil Designed for most traditional open-style boxes

The table shows that size and fit are the two columns that matter most. Every listing gives a bag size. Three name automatic models, and they do not agree: KropBom says its bags do not fit LR 3, 4 or 5, ANWA lists LR 3, 4, 5, 5 Pro and EVO, and Frnoip says Litter Robot 3 is among the boxes it fits. Elzrghs marks its 36 by 16 inch size as not compatible with self-cleaning boxes, and Jonny Cat says its bags suit most traditional open-style boxes. Read the automatic-box column before you read the thickness column.

Fit and size: the arithmetic

Bag size is a width times a length, and the two numbers together show how much of a pan a liner can cover. The formula for the area of one bag is:

area in square inches = length in inches x width in inches

  • FortiCrest: 37 x 18 = 666 square inches.
  • Elzrghs: 36 x 16 = 576 square inches.
  • Frnoip: 37 x 18 = 666 square inches, the same listed size as FortiCrest.

So the FortiCrest and Frnoip bags are 666 square inches each, and the Elzrghs bag is 576. The ratio is 666 / 576 = 1.16, which means the jumbo bags cover about 16 percent more area than the Elzrghs size. Area does not show whether the bag sits flat in a particular pan, so use it only to compare two sizes that are both listed.

The combined length plus width is a second check, and ANWA’s listing makes the difference clear. The ANWA bag measures 25.2 + 15.4 = 40.6 inches combined, while the pan rule says the pan must measure under 25 inches combined. The first figure is the bag and the second is the pan. The two numbers measure different things, which is why the pan measurement should come first.

For the other listings, the combined figures are 37 + 18 = 55 inches for FortiCrest, 36 + 16 = 52 inches for Elzrghs, and 26 + 11.8 = 37.8 inches for KropBom. Frnoip’s bullet gives a different fit limit, of up to 36 inches combined length and width for the box.

How long a pack lasts

The listings give counts, but not a rate of use. Two listings give a change interval, so the arithmetic below uses those intervals and says so.

  • Frnoip says to change the bags once or twice weekly. At two changes a week, 60 / 2 = 30 weeks, and at one change a week, 60 / 1 = 60 weeks.
  • KropBom says its 150 bags last over a year with weekly changes. At one change a week, 150 / 52 = 2.88 years. The listing’s “over a year” wording does not match that rate, and the listing does not state the number of changes it assumes.

The KropBom figure shows why the change rate matters. A pack can honestly last “over a year” and still hold far more bags than one year needs at one change a week. Ask the seller for the change rate behind a figure before you compare packs.

What each listing says

KropBom 150 count

The listing says:

  • Bag size: 26 by 11.8 inches. Designed for self-cleaning litter boxes with a drawstring.
  • Compatible with Cmg, Fum, Fsite, Neaks, Meow and Autoscooper open-top automatic boxes. The bullets say the bags do not fit LR 3, 4 or 5.
  • Pre-separated bags; the listing says to pull one without tearing the others.
  • Capacity: 10 to 12 gallons of cat waste, according to the bullets. Material: LDPE with double-sealed edges.
  • Package dimensions: 14.5 by 2.5 by 5.7 inches; 2.58 pounds.

KropBom is the only listing in the group that names a compatibility exclusion, and the exclusion is useful: a buyer with an LR 3, 4 or 5 box can rule it out at once. The listing does not state a thickness figure. Its highlight says 150 bags last over a year with weekly changes, which the arithmetic above treats as a claim. For a broader look at automatic-box litter, see Kitty Litter Systems: What One Listing Says.

Frnoip 60 pack

The listing says:

  • Size: 37 by 18 inches, for jumbo and automatic litter boxes.
  • Thickness: 3 MIL total, which the listing describes as 1.5 MIL per side. It says the bags are 50 percent thicker than standard liners.
  • Fit: boxes up to 36 inches combined length and width. It names Modkat, Jonny Cat and Litter Robot 3.
  • Capacity: holds 10 to 15 gallons, according to the bullets.
  • Change interval: once or twice weekly.

Frnoip’s 3 MIL total is the highest stated thickness in this group. Dividing it by Jonny Cat’s 2 mil gives 3 / 2 = 1.5, so the Frnoip bag is stated as 1.5 times as thick. A mil figure describes film thickness, not strength, so treat the difference as a stated figure only. The fit limit of 36 inches combined is the one to check against your own pan, and the listing does not describe the pan shape. For odor control between changes, see Best Cat Litter Box for Odor Control.

ANWA 40 count

The listing says:

  • Two rolls of 20 bags, 40 in all. The variant we read was the 20 count pack of two.
  • Compatible with LR Series models 3, 4, 5, 5 Pro and EVO, according to the bullets.
  • Dimension: 25.2 by 15.4 inches. The listing says the length plus width of the litter pan must be less than 25 inches, or the liners will not fit properly.
  • Drawstring design, easy to tear, heavy-duty and extra thick. No thickness figure is given.
  • Package dimensions: 5.98 by 4.29 by 2.05 inches; 1.01 pounds.

ANWA gives the only pan rule in the group, which makes it the most specific fit statement here. It lists LR 3, 4, 5, 5 Pro and EVO as compatible, while KropBom says its bags do not fit LR 3, 4 or 5. The two listings disagree about the LR series, and neither explains the difference. Read both before you buy, check the model number on your own drawer, and measure the pan.

FortiCrest 30 count

The listing says:

  • Size: 37 by 18 inches, described as large and jumbo for multi-cat homes and large litter boxes.
  • Thickness: about 2.8 mil. The listing says the figure was measured in the maker’s own check; we did not verify that statement.
  • Load: the bags support up to 30 pounds. For loads over 22 pounds, the listing recommends lifting from the bag body.
  • Drawstring closure for disposal without dirtying hands.
  • A notice in the listing says no plastic cat litter liner can be 100 percent claw-proof during active digging.

FortiCrest gives a thickness figure, a load and a warning about claws in the same listing, which is more detail than most of the group. The lift-from-body rule matters once a bag holds heavy litter, and the listing puts that threshold at 22 pounds. The listing does not say which automatic boxes the bags fit.

Elzrghs 30 pack

The listing says:

  • Each pack contains 30 liners, each 36 by 16 inches. The bullets say they fit litter boxes that measure less than 36 inches long plus wide, and ask the buyer to check fit.
  • Extra thick material. The listing says it is sturdy enough for a cat’s claws, but gives no thickness figure.
  • A drawstring, and each liner is separated rather than connected.
  • The comparison table in the listing gives a 36 by 16 inch size with no mark for compatibility with self-cleaning boxes. It gives two 25 by 16 inch sizes, with 100 and 50 counts, and marks both compatible.

The Elzrghs table is the clearest compatibility statement in this group, and it is the reason the 36 by 16 inch size should be read with care. It is not marked for self-cleaning boxes, while the two smaller sizes are. For a manual box with steps or a raised entry, see Litter Box with Steps.

Jonny Cat 15 count

The listing says:

  • One 15 count box of unscented jumbo liners with a drawstring closure.
  • Tear and leak resistant: the bullets say it is 2 mil thick heavy-duty material.
  • Jumbo size stated as 3 ft by 18 in by 2 mil, and described as designed for most traditional open-style litter boxes.
  • The description says the liners are made in the USA with recycled plastic.
  • Other counts: a pack of five and a pack of six are listed in the variant row.

Jonny Cat is the only listing here with a clear thickness figure and a clear box type, and its 2 mil figure is the lowest stated number in the group. The jumbo size uses feet and inches together, which is worth checking against a tape measure. The made-in-USA statement is a claim on the listing and we did not verify it. For the box side of the decision, see Best Way to Clean Litter Box.

Buying checklist

  • Measure the pan first. Write down its length and width, then compare the sum with ANWA’s rule (under 25 inches) and Frnoip’s limit (up to 36 inches combined).
  • Identify the box type. Automatic drawers need a compatibility statement; KropBom, ANWA and Frnoip give one, and Elzrghs gives a table entry for its sizes. A kitten has its own box needs, covered in Best Litter Box for Kittens.
  • Check where the box will sit. A liner that slides on a hard floor is a different problem from one that folds in a pan, and Where to Put a Litter Box covers the placement side.
  • Pick a thickness figure you can compare. Frnoip gives 3 MIL total, FortiCrest about 2.8 mil and Jonny Cat 2 mil. ANWA and Elzrghs give no figure.
  • Check the count against your change rate. Use the formula in the arithmetic section: pack count divided by changes per week gives weeks of supply.
  • Read the load rule if your box holds heavy wet litter. FortiCrest’s listing puts the lift-from-body point at 22 pounds.
  • Note the claw warning. FortiCrest says no liner is claw-proof, so a cat that digs hard may need a second bag or a thicker product.
  • Keep the old liner until the new one fits. A liner that sits loose in the pan can slide or fold.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Buying on the bag size alone. The Elzrghs 36 by 16 inch size is not marked for self-cleaning boxes, so the same size can fit one box and not another.
  • Treating mil figures as a strength ranking. Frnoip’s 3 MIL and Jonny Cat’s 2 mil are stated numbers. They do not show how each bag performs under load.
  • Assuming a long “over a year” claim matches your use. KropBom’s figure is a claim, and the one-change-a-week rate gives 2.88 years, which the listing does not state.
  • Mixing automatic and manual bags. KropBom’s bags are for open-top automatic boxes, and the listing says they do not fit LR 3, 4 or 5.
  • Ignoring the pan rule. ANWA’s listing says a pan above the stated length plus width will not fit properly.

What we could not verify

  • The listings do not show how any bag holds up to a cat’s claws over time. FortiCrest’s thickness claim and Frnoip’s 50 percent claim are the makers’ figures.
  • Most listings do not give the dimensions of the boxes they fit, so the fit statements cannot be checked against a real pan.
  • The listings do not state a load figure except FortiCrest’s 30 pound statement, and that figure’s method is not given.
  • We did not verify the made-in-USA statement on the Jonny Cat listing or the recycled plastic claim.
  • The listings do not say how the bags handle clumping litter, pellets or crystals in a manual pan. For the litter types, see Types of Cat Litter.
  • The compatibility lists in the automatic-box claims are the makers’ lists. We did not check them against any machine.

FAQ

What size litterbox liner fits a jumbo box?

The jumbo sizes in this group are 37 by 18 inches (FortiCrest and Frnoip) and 3 ft by 18 in (Jonny Cat, as the listing writes it). Frnoip’s bullet says its bags fit boxes up to 36 inches combined length and width. Measure your pan first, because a 37 by 18 inch bag is 55 inches combined.

Do litterbox liners fit a Litter Robot?

Two listings name Litter Robot models. Frnoip lists Litter Robot 3 among the boxes it fits. ANWA says its bags are compatible with LR Series models 3, 4, 5, 5 Pro and EVO. KropBom says its bags do not fit LR 3, 4 or 5. The listings disagree, so check the model number on your drawer and the bag’s compatibility line before you buy.

Which liner is thickest?

The listings state three figures: Frnoip 3 MIL total, FortiCrest about 2.8 mil and Jonny Cat 2 mil. Frnoip’s figure is the highest stated number, and Frnoip’s listing describes the bag as 1.5 mil per side. ANWA and Elzrghs call their bags extra thick but do not give a number.

How many liners do I need for a year?

Divide the year’s changes by the number of bags in the pack. At one change a week, a year needs 52 bags, and a pack of 60 covers about 60 / 52 = 1.15 years. At two changes a week, the same year needs 104 bags. The listings do not say which change rate they assume.

Can I use a manual pan liner in a self-cleaning box?

Not in every case. The Elzrghs table marks its 36 by 16 inch size as not compatible with self-cleaning boxes, while two smaller Elzrghs sizes are marked compatible. ANWA gives a pan rule for its LR series bags. Use the compatibility line of the bag you are buying, not the bag type.

Why do the listings give different sizes for similar bags?

Each listing measures a different thing. ANWA gives a bag size and a pan rule. FortiCrest and Frnoip give 37 by 18 inch bags for jumbo pans. Elzrghs gives 36 by 16 inches and a table. Jonny Cat gives a jumbo size in feet and inches. Measure your own pan rather than matching the numbers across listings.

Bottom line

Measure the pan, check the automatic-box line, and then compare the thickness figures. For a manual jumbo box with a stated thickness, the Frnoip and FortiCrest listings give the most detail. For an automatic drawer, check the KropBom and ANWA compatibility lines before you buy. For how to keep the box clean between changes, see Best Way to Clean Litter Box and Best Cat Box for Multiple Cats.
